Teachers and HOTA facilitators at the Kavango West residential training, Nkurenkuru

Art, Tourism, & the Creative Economy in Northern Namibia

Designed and led a three-day residential training in Nkurenkuru for 23 teachers from rural schools across Kavango West, showing them how to bring creative product development (idea, prototype, feedback, pitch) into subjects like agriculture, woodworking, and design & technology using only materials learners can actually find. Delivered under Art, Tourism & the Creative Economy (ATCE-II), a University of St Andrews funded programme run with HOTA (Home of the Arts); pre/post surveys recorded a 7% rise in teacher self-rated competence.

34 entrepreneurs across two cohorts, each paired one-on-one through the business model canvas, customer validation, pricing, and startup finance. They pitched their own businesses, and the strongest were selected for incubation at the Don Bosco Centre.
